[workshop gathering]
holiday Greeting Card Smorgasbord
& OPEN HOuse
$15 suggested donation (venmo, paypal or cash at door accepted)
We are doing our part to bring back the tradition of handmade cards! Let's get together and make some. We have rubber stamps, paper punches, card stock, paints, markers, sequins, glitter, eyelets and more. I even have some templates to make your own envelopes if you are so inclined :)
Includes materials & tools, crafty companionship, cheezy holiday music, good tidings and great cheer, light refreshments and nibbles.
If you wish to have a set of matching cards and envelopes you should bring your own blank set (I like the ones from Blick or Papersource) what I have for use will be a mish-mosh variety of papers and card stock.
This event is full-spectrum crafting: even if you don't consider yourself crafty/artsy this is entry-level. Also if you are a craft master, you will be able to shine. So you really have no excuse not to come :)
>>>> NEW in 2022! KidScampers 8+ (with an adult, no drop offs)
If your child(ren) aged 8+ are able to do crafts with minimal supervision and want to participate by creating cards, bring them with you (sorry no drop offs). There will be a separate table space for kidScampers with materials to create cards and gift tags. However, there will not be any instruction per se, and participating s'campers will be expected to be safe/responsible with the property, tools, materials, etc., and respectful of off-limits adult spaces and items (including adult drinks) Accompanying adults will be responsible for herding their kittens.
>>>> Our space is small and we usually have a full house at this event, please let kidScampers know it is not going to be a place for ruckus playing or running about.
>>>> Please wear warm clothes and shoes that can also get messy. It may rain and we will be outside under a pop up and in unheated studio with doors open :)
Maximum 20 participants. $15 each suggested donation/pay what you can (can pay at door if we don't sell out, no guarantee of a spot if you don't pre register)

[winter camp]
artscamp For kids!
Know any kiddo S’campers who really love to make art and have the desire and focus to spend time on projects? This S'camp is for them! Using mostly sustainable, recycled and natural materials, S’campers will have the opportunity to explore new tinkering tools and methods. Projects will be based on the process not product philosophy, with each S’camper focusing on their own creative goals, experiments and vision within the boundary of the materials and tools provided.
Age range is 8-10 years old, but most importantly, artScamp kids are able to create in community with joy and focus, are self-regulated*, and...their parents are comfortable with them using tools and techniques that require some care and safety.
*Self-regulated in that your child is able to be safe/responsible with real tools, respectful of off-limits spaces/items, listen to and follow limits and expectations, etc. Unfortunately, at this time, we don't have the ability to give a kiddo extra help in those areas and still stay true to the artScamp mission.
The day will look sorta/ish like this (artScamp’s mission is to support creative flow, which can be hijacked by strict scheduling.)
8:45-9am drop off & welcoming
Quick art warm-up
Intro & instruction for project of the day, followed by:
Project work (with snack/bathroom/milling about breaks as needed)
12pm lunch break/play
Return to project for a bit
Clean up
1:30pm pick up
Camp will be held outside. There is a dedicated camp bathroom. Masks optional for outside, adults/instructors are vaccinated.
$90 per day or $250 for three days (includes materials)
S’campers bring their own lunches/snacks.
Minimum 4 / Maximum 8 participants.
>>> ArtScamp is located in Mar Vista, in Los Angeles, CA 90066.

The Fine Print
Sorry tickets are not refundable if you are unable to attend. If your plans change, gift or sell your spot to a friend! Just send me a note with the person’s name and email.
We use real and professional tools at artScamp. As a willing participant you are taking on the risk associated with said tools. And, safety is a priority and we will help you learn to use tools safely and with confidence.
You should plan to get dirty. Wear your "cleaning the garage" clothes and closed toed shoes that can be splattered with paint, glue, coffee and glitter.
Unless otherwise listed, gatherings and workshops are for adults only. You do so much for the kiddos, how 'bout we do a little sumpin' sumpin' for you now?
